Playing on the same pitch

At Drumlin, we believe that guiding our guests through the natural world involves so much more than just being outside. It is about showing what Sweden has to offer and what we, a little too often, take for granted. Perhaps we find it difficult to see its value.

It is important for us that we are playing on the same pitch as nature and the environment. Our motive is that our guests should be affected by being out with us, encouraging them to take a moment to think about how we are also part of nature and that we also bear responsibility for it. This is why it is important that we guides have a well thought-out attitude to nature, the environment and mankind. Our trips are carried out with humour and enthusiasm. This is because our aim is that our guests have an unforgettable experience on their holiday.

We have chosen to use an ecotourism approach. This means that our focus is the guest, nature and the local community. As far as possible, we use local services, organic food and sustainable transport methods. For example, transportation on Blue Taiga uses dogsleds, and all our trips are adapted to fit with train and bus times.

If any issues relating to the environment and sustainability arise on or in association with our events, don’t hesitate to ask questions. We might not know everything, but what we don’t know we’ll find out for you.

We offer guided trips in the mountains, forests and waterways of Jämtland, as well as in the countryside to be found close to urban areas. We serve private individuals, groups and companies.

We organise courses in nature tourism and outdoor education.

Drumlin is a brand owned by Rutilus Ecokonsult AB.

Bosse Säll
This is a man who started with outdoor activities at the age of eight and with guiding when he was 21. He is now 43 and has spent many months in the areas which we use, both on skis and by dogsled.

"The best thing about being a guide is being able to share things that I have experienced and learnt over the years," says the man from Västra Götaland who fled from damp grey winters to the snows of Jämtland.

Erik Hellberg

Erik is one of the many southerners who has moved to Jämtland because of the mountains. It’s difficult to know whether it was on his first trip on the mountains that he really fell for the outdoor life, because he was one year old and was lying in a pulk sled. But one thing is for sure, and that is that he has mucked around in the mountains, forests and on the water for most of his life.

And he definitely hasn’t seen less of the outdoors since he started guiding, ten or so years ago.

Nowadays he pulls his pulk sled himself.
